Here is one drawing from a set of 13 antique early 19th century (1800’s) original topographical blue & brown wash drawings from an artist’s traveling tour of France Belgium and Italy, circa 1817. Obviously by the same artist and from the same sketch book, some are titled/inscribed on the backs of the mats (taken from the backs of the works). These are all double-matted and wrapped in protective plastic, so I have left them unopened to protect them. These are being sold and priced individually.
These drawings are in very good to excellent antiquarian condition, with the occasional small spots of soiling or small, light stains, as commensurate with something two hundred years old! So please examine the photos carefully, as any flaw will be visible in them.
The mats on numbers 1 and 13 measure 13″ by 15-3/4″ and their windows measure 7-1/2″ by 10-5/8″. The mats on numbers 2 through 12 measure 13-1/2″ by 15-3/4″ and their windows measure 8″ by 10-5/8″.
